Andrew Thompson and Katherine Lester Thompson have been active members of the professional art community for over 19 years and were married in 2011.
Andrew studied Fine Art and Art History at Kenyon College in Ohio and worked at a distinguished American gallery on Madison Avenue for 10 years. He worked with private clients and curated a number of important exhibitions including Thomas Hart Benton, Benton on the Vineyard, American Modern, and The Eight, among others. Andrew is also the co-author of the forthcoming Thomas Hart Benton Catalogue Raisonne and a recognized authority on Benton’s work.
Katherine studied Art History at Vassar College and spent eleven years working with a prominent private dealer, handling some of the finest examples of American paintings ever brought to the market. Kate’s areas of expertise include 19th Century Hudson River School, American Impressionism and American Modernism, as well as European Modernism and Post War. She has spent much of her career facilitating acquisitions for important museum collections throughout the country.
